Basic Requirements and Expectations

Volunteers will be selected without regard to race, creed, religion, age, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, or disability.

- Volunteers must be 18 years old or older.
- Driving of government vehicles requires valid state driver's license.
- Background checks may be conducted on volunteers.
- Criminal History - Persons who have been convicted of a felony, violent crime, crime against persons, or crimes involving use of a weapon will not be utilized in the NPS VIP program; however, the Superintendent may permit the person to volunteer based on an analysis of the nature of the crime, the date of conviction, evidence of rehabilitation, etc.
